Zentangle Casement

with Mary Maisch

Whether you create Zentangles or not, you will want to learn how to make this elegant casement! Mary Maisch will guide you through the steps to create the casement using a pattern she designed. The finished casement will be made of Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper and tied with classic grosgrain ribbon. You can even embellish your casement with a Zentangled border!

Please bring the following tools:

Cutting mat

rulers

x-Acto knife

Bone folder

pencil, eraser

Pens

Scissors

Glue stick or Mac Tac scraps

Optional: Zentangle tiles needing a home!

Program fee: $5 (non-members)

Guild members: no charge

Bear Gallery, June 2014

A group exhibition by Northwoods Books Arts Guild will showcase your artist books at the Arts Association's Bear Gallery. It's scheduled for June of 2014 and the time to plan is now. Come to the meeting to hear the latest news and to help anticipate exciting things to come!

Group Order for Waxed Linen

Do you need waxed linen to start or complete your book project?

The Guild will place a group order of standard 4-ply waxed linen thread from www.royalwoodltd.com right after the meeting on May 23. Come to the meeting prepared to order. Each spool costs $13, including shipping. All orders must be prepaid by cash or check at the meeting. Orders will be available for pick-up on Saturday, June 8, between 1:00 and 3:00 at Corlis's Studio, 748 Gaffney Road. This is a great time to stock up since prices are due to increase on June 1st. Go to the Royalwood website to select your colors and come to the meeting ready to order.

Mac Tac Available

The Guild will have Mac Tac available at the meeting for purchase at $2 per sheet (8.5 x 11 in.). As we all know, Mac Tac is the secret to creating non-adhesive bindings - this is your chance to stock up right here in Fairbanks!
