Camp Celebration Sunday

Join us this Sunday for Camp Celebration Sunday! Our entire community is invited to gather for one service at 10 a.m. that will be livestreamed and in person.

Come catch the camp spirit as we celebrate the joy, laughter, friendships, and faith that have been growing at Norval’s camp throughout July. Together we'll give thanks for the incredible campers, dedicated camp staff, volunteers, and supportive families who make camp such a special place.

Whether you're part of camp this year or simply want to celebrate and support this important ministry, we'd love to have you with us.

If camp has been part of your story over the years, as a former camper, staff member, volunteer, or camp family, we'd be delighted to welcome you back as we celebrate the lasting impact of camp across generations.

Everyone is welcome online or in person. We hope you'll join us!

Join us Online

or

In-Person for Worship @ 10:00AM

You can find the online service on Facebook Live or on our YouTube channel.

The service will be saved at both locations for viewing through the week.

Children, Youth & Family Leader Search Update

Our Search Team is currently in the midst of interviewing potential candidates for this important role at Norval, and we are feeling hopeful about the possibilities ahead.

We have learned, both from our own experience and from other churches, that finding the right person takes time. Thank you for your continued patience, encouragement, and prayers as we trust that God is at work throughout this process.

We are also deeply grateful to everyone who has served on the Search Team. Some members have faithfully completed many months of service, while others have recently joined the team, including two of our youth, whose voices have been a valuable part of the interview process.

The Search Team is hopeful to have more updates to share with the Norval community in the near future.

A visit from our MP

We had Kristina Tesser Derkson (our local MP) join us from on Monday this week. Thanks to the Summer Jobs Grant, we were able to hire our fantastic managers (Blaire, Brodie, Sarah & Robin) and put on a wonderful summer program! Below is a note from our camp Director, Lucy Bolton.

Thank you so much for visiting us on Monday and presenting the awards to our managers! We are all so incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to share our camp with you! This grant has offered us such wonderful chances to create fun moments and lasting memories for all the campers and the staff. It truly is a blessing to have such a wonderful team this summer, and we couldn’t have done that without the wonderful support Kristina and her team has offered us.

From NUC's Outreach Team

Can you help? We're looking for a Leader or Leaders to head up this year's Terry Fox Run "United for Hope" Team.

This year’s run/walk takes place on Sunday, Sept 20th. Georgetown Fairgrounds is the starting point and is run by the Terry Fox Foundation.

The organization’s website provides all the technical support to set up teams, for participants to sign up and for supporters to make donations.

"United for Hope" will include members from Norval, St. John's, St. Andrew's and Hillcrest United Churches, offering a great opportunity for the 4 congregations to build community.

The Team Leader(s) responsibilities include:

  • answering participant and donor questions
  • helping to promote and share the website link
  • coordinating with the Leads from the other 3 churches
  • being a cheerleader for all involved

Support for this role is being offered by Sue Sibley from St. John's, who led

this Spring's UNITED4HOSPICE team.

Anyone (or couple) interested in Leading "United for Hope" this year,

Above are just a few photos of some of the members of the Norval community who joined us for the Milton Pride Parade and Pride in the Park this past Sunday!

It was wonderful to gather with people from churches and organizations across Georgetown, Milton, Burlington, and beyond as we celebrated together. One of the gifts of the day was hearing from so many people who simply wanted to say, "Thank you for being here."

A special thank you to Norval's Affirming Ministries Team and everyone who joined us throughout the afternoon. And thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello!
