Sunday, October 26th

What if the gifts we carry are not just talents, but sacred trust? This week in worship, we’ll reflect on how we are each called to be faithful with what we’ve been given, offering our time, our presence, and our gifts with grace and purpose. We’ll explore what it means to live in community, where each person’s contribution matters and together we form something beautiful.

Join us as we continue our stewardship series Let Your Life Speak and discover how our lives can become an offering of love.

All are welcome.

As we continue our stewardship campaign

— Let Your Life Speak: Discover Your Call from God —

join us on Sunday to explore the ways God equips us to pursue our mission.

Each of us are uniquely gifted by God with personal strengths and abilities. These gifts equip us to live out our mission. Completing a Spiritual Gifts Inventory is one way to explore and reflect on our abilities.

We invite you to complete David Ewart’s Spiritual Gifts Questionnaire and review the accompanying description booklet. Discovering your gifts might help you better hear God’s call and consider how you can be faithful with what you’ve been given.

Please also join us on Monday October 27th 7:30 -8:30 via Zoom here - to discuss the ways each of us have been equipped by God with personal strengths and abilities.

Let Your Life Speak: The Power of Prayer

Last Sunday, we reflected on the many ways we pray: for those we love, for those we’ll never meet, for our world, and for one another. Sometimes our prayers come through tears, or through the quiet rhythm of stitching a prayer shawl or square. Sometimes they are offered in silence, as we listen for the whisper of God. During our Theme Conversation, Marilyn Smith and Jennifer Barnett shared the beautiful origins of Norval’s Prayer Group and Prayer Purls, and how this ministry has woven deep connections with our community, with others, and with the Sacred.

The Prayer Team warmly invites anyone who is able to join them Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. All are welcome. Prayer requests and updates can also be shared anytime by emailing prayers@norvalunited.ca.

Whether prayer is new to you or part of your daily rhythm, we invite you to explore its many forms. As a Norval community, may we come together in prayer and hope, trusting that each stitch, each word, each moment of quiet draws us closer to one another and to God.

On Sunday, November 9th our entire Norval community is invited to gather in-person and via livestream at 10 a.m. for our Remembrance Sunday service with leadership from our youth.

You are invited to share photos of loved ones who have served or are serving in the military.

Whether you are worshiping online or in person, please feel free to email Rev. Heather heather@norvalunited.ca a photo by November 4th, and we will include it our service. If you are attending in-person, you are also welcome to bring a framed photo of your loved one, which we will place on the Communion table in the sanctuary as we remember together.
