Sunday, June 8th

Come be part of something special! Join us this Sunday for one special service at 10 a.m. as the four Georgetown United Churches will gather at NUC for a joyful, Spirit-filled worship service, both in-person and livestreamed.

As we celebrate Pentecost and the 100th Anniversary of The United Church of Canada, we’ll give thanks for the Spirit that has moved through generations—calling us into deep spirituality, bold discipleship, and daring justice. We’re delighted to welcome guest preacher Dr. Betty Pries as we honour our past and look with hope to the future.

Come celebrate, be inspired, and share in the journey. All are welcome!

Farmerette Documentary

NUC member, Terry Hope, shared this link for those interested in checking out the documentary and learning more.

We Lend a Hand: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes is a documentary film that tells the extraordinary story of 40,000 teenage girls who volunteered on Canadian farms during the Second World War. Terry’s mother-in-law was one of these young women. She would have been about 16, left her home in Capreol, and worked a couple of summers in St. Catharines picking fruit and vegetables.

There will be a screening of the film in Oakville on June 23rd. You can purchase tickets as well as find other screening dates in various locations at: www.welendahand.ca
