Outreach Committee-Card Ministry

In consultation with Reverend Heather Power, the Outreach committee is initiating a card ministry project. Rose-Marie Richards, an online NUC member, has kindly donated an assortment of her hand made cards for this project.

If you know someone in the congregation who would benefit from receiving a card (congratulations, birthday, get well, sympathy, etc.), please email Jan Costain at jancostain@gmail.com. If you have any questions, please ask anyone on the Outreach committee.

Affirming Book Club

Join us every Wednesday evening at the church (or email Trudy for the zoom link at bugsrock@hotmail.com between 7 and 8 pm in July and August for our Affirming Book club conversations. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE READ THE BOOK - Please join us anyway!

Welcome Back Sunday • September 13

As you're making plans for the months ahead, we'd love for you to save the date for our Welcome Back Sunday celebrations on September 13.

Join us for worship at 9:00 a.m. online or 10:00 a.m. in person. We will celebrate the beginning of a new school year with a special Back-to-School Blessing in both of our services that morning. At 10:00 a.m., children and youth are invited to bring their backpacks for the blessing.

Following our 9:00 a.m. worship service, members of our online community are invited to gather on Zoom at 9:50 a.m. for a virtual coffee time to connect and chat together. Please join host Cheryl Mees at the following link:

Love to Sing? Love Music? Come Make Some Music With Us!

Do you love to sing? Enjoy making music with others? Or maybe you’re simply curious about what it might be like to be part of a fun and welcoming musical group at Norval?

This fall, our Music Director, Alan Forde, is bringing together a new Praise and Music Group! The idea is simple: gather together, explore some fun music, enjoy singing with others, and perhaps even teach the congregation a new song or two along the way.

Interested? Come and see what it’s all about! Meet with Alan and others following the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, September 13, to learn more and make some plans for the fall.

Whether you’ve been singing for years or simply love music and would like to give it a try, we’d love to have you join us. Everyone is welcome!

Community Bulletin board!

Celebrating Michael and Brandon Grove

Congratulations to our custodian, Michael Grove, on an outstanding achievement at the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat. Michael served as an assistant coach with Team Ontario basketball, helping guide the team to a silver medal after a hard-fought championship game against British Columbia that was decided by just two points.

Michael’s dedication to Special Olympics reflects the same commitment, positivity, and care he brings to our church community every day.

We are also proud to recognize Michael’s son, Brandon Grove, for an incredible performance in athletics. Brandon won gold in the 1500 metre race, gold in the 400 metre race, silver in javelin, and bronze as part of the 4 × 400 metre relay team.

These accomplishments are a wonderful celebration of teamwork, perseverance, and the spirit of inclusion at the heart of Special Olympics. Please join us in congratulating Michael and Brandon Grove on their success and in celebrating the pride they bring to our community.

United 4 Hope Team



We are entering a 4 church combined team in the Sep. 20 2026 Terry Fox Run/Walk at the Georgetown Fairgrounds. We are building on the spirit of our successful Coldest Night and Hike for Hospice teams. The United Churches of Georgetown are walking together to encourage care and support for innovative cancer research.

Well let’s make this, the year - come join us! It’s short and sweet, yet impactful. You will be walking on the Georgetown Fairgrounds 1 km track at your preferred distance and pace. The run/walk will be held in the morning on Sun. Sep. 20. It kicks-off at 9:45am, with event prizes at 11:00am.

Cancer impacts us all. United 4 Hope members from Hillcrest, Norval, St. Andrew’s and St. John’s United Churches are walking to change the lives of those facing cancer.
