Sunday, May 4th

This week, we step into a tender conversation on the beach — one that’s awkward, honest, and holy. Peter, full of mistakes and hope, is asked three times: “Do you love me?” And with each answer, we hear a deeper invitation — not just to believe, but to follow, with courage, vulnerability, and love.

As we think about following Jesus in our own lives, this Sunday in particular it might feel a bit like a play on that famous line from Star Wars: "May the 4th be with you." Whether it’s the trust to step into the unknown, like Peter, or the faith to boldly embrace the road ahead, Jesus invites us to follow, even when it feels like we’re facing an uncertain galaxy.

Come with your questions. Come with your doubts. Join us as we grow together — a community learning to live out faith with meaning, love, and purpose.

Youth and Young Families Position - Updates

The Executive along with M & P are carefully considering all the suggestions that came out of the Town Hall meeting. We will be meeting again next week and will report back to you as soon as we have some options for going forward with this position. It is imperative that we take the necessary time to discern what we want this role to look like going forward. We appreciate all your input and your patience.

In the meantime, we have filled some of the required roles with volunteers. We are grateful for all that have stepped forward and appreciate their time and efforts.  We do still need some assistance, so if you have a passion for young people and would like to help out, please contact Helga Kennedy: hckennedy57@gmail.com

Please click on the link provided to read the full update here Some printed hardcopies of the full update will be available on Sunday. If you miss picking one up and would like a printed copy, please contact the church office.

Join Us by supporting the Hike for Hospice

on Sat. May 3 @ 10:00AM!

Things are shaping up nicely for Georgetown’s second annual Hike for Hospice. We have done the planning. We have our hike volunteers in place. We have a team of 22 walkers ready from the 4 Georgetown United Churches and the community. We are UNITED4HOSPICE!

Here is a recent article from HaltonHillsToday https://www.haltonhillstoday.ca/local-news/charity-walk-participants-sought-to-help-bring-hospice-to-north-halton-10534138 that references the Hike, and why our team UNITED4HOSPICE (U4H) was formed. On Sat. May 3 @ 10:00AM, our Georgetown walkers will be heading out from Norval United Church, 14015 Danby Road, on a 5km circuit through Georgetown South. Be sure to wave if you see us!

Our UNITED4HOSPICE team goal is to raise $15,000 by Hike Day - May 3. In these final days, we are asking you to join our efforts. Please consider supporting a U4H walker or our team in general by making your donation now. Your gift will help the Townsend Smith Foundation build North Halton’s first hospice residence. https://www.canadahelps.org/s/6WqJK3

Thank you from the UNITED4HOSPICE Team!
