Bridgton, ME 2/4/2022 - - The Rufus Porter Museum of Art and Ingenuity announced that Norway Savings Bank has again sponsored the museum as an underwriter of their 2022 Summer Season with a donation of $2,500. This year's major event will be a tour of local barns, to be held in July.

"The Rufus Porter Museum is encouraged by the continued support of Norway Savings Bank as we continue to grow and expand our outreach to the community" stated Karla Leandri Rider, Executive Director. "While every season is important, 2022 is shaping up to be a very exciting time at the museum, and we could not do all that we do without the backing of our local businesses such as Norway Savings Bank."

The Rufus Porter Museum of Art and Ingenuity is open from mid-June to mid-October, and also by appointment. Updated information on hours of operation, events, and programs can be found on their website.

About Rufus Porter Museum of Art and Ingenuity
Founded in 2005, the Rufus Porter Museum of Art and Ingenuity, located in Bridgton, Maine, features the history of a remarkable 19th century New Englander, Rufus Porter (1792-1884). Porter is well-known in the folk art community for his landscape murals and miniature portraits, however, Porter was more than just a painter. He was the founding publisher and editor of the magazine Scientific American as well as inventor, writer, teacher, and more. The museum is dedicated to capturing and sharing with the public Porter’s uniquely American blend of creativity, ingenuity, practicality, and energy by exploring the world and era in which he lived and worked.
