Update from Norwin School District
Superintendent Dr. Jeff Taylor
March 13, 2020
Dear Norwin School District Families and Members of the Community,

At 2:59 p.m. today, Governor Wolf directed all Pennsylvania schools to close effective immediately for a minimum of ten school days. All Norwin School District buildings and facilities will be closed beginning at 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2020 through midnight on Sunday, March 29, 2020.

District transportation, athletics, and activities are cancelled. There will be no practices, games, trips, or events. No outside organizations will be permitted to access or use district facilities during this period of closure.  It is our intent to try to re-schedule as many events as possible in the coming weeks and communicate the new dates as soon as they are available. We will continue to follow the guidance from county, state, and federal officials during the closure and will re-evaluate as needed.

I recognize the actions above will cause disruption to our students, staff, and families. This situation continues to evolve rapidly and updated information will be provided as soon as possible. This is a challenging time, and I would like to thank you for your continued support as the District works to keep our students, families, employees, and school community safe and healthy.

At the bottom of this correspondence, please find a list of relevant resources for your review. Additionally, I would encourage you to regularly check our District’s Coronavirus Preparedness Website at www.norwinsd.org/coronavirus/ for updated resources and information.

Thank you for your continued support as we strive to maintain a healthy and safe environment for our students, staff, and community members.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeff Taylor,
Superintendent
