Dear colleagues, customers and friends,
Writing a love letter to your beloved on Valentine's Day is an idea that pops up in articles around this time of year. Beautiful? Yes. Easy? Not always! Here's a wonderful idea, from an article by one of my favorite bloggers:
This one’s fun and invites creativity and playfulness: Write a list of “50 Things I Love About You” that includes everything you can think of, from seemingly obvious-yet-true things such as the color of their hair or the feel of them in bed beside you, to more personal-and-unexpected things like “the way you set out a mug and a Splenda packet for me when you make coffee in the morning," or “the way you croon country music in the car,” or “the fact that you’re still trying to convert me to someone who will be on time.” The more specific here, the better!
Lists can be personal and punchy and full of personality. They can get a lot across in a short amount of time and space. Lists are also great to use in an ethical will to share lessons you've learned in your life.
What's great about this idea of a Valentine's list is that it works not only for a partner but also for a child, a sibling, a parent, or a friend. And it can be written anytime, not just for Valentine's Day.
To love...every day of the year,
Susan
P.S. Speaking of lists and legacy, listen to this brief video of Roseanne Cash talking about the list her father Johnny Cash wrote for her and what it meant to her and inspired her to do.
