Ein Prosit de Gemutlichkeit!

You really don't want to miss the good cheer, friendliness and the celebration of community at Beer & Hymns . Our German friends, Verena and Helen are coming to help us with the singing of Ein Prosit, a popular Oktoberfest drinking song, and most of the hymns are ones that you already know and love. The brats are currently soaking in a bath of Big Elm brew. We'll also serve German potato salad, chips and soft drinks. Awesome beer is available for purchase.
It's a fundraiser, so we ask that you give generously at the door to support our Appalachian Trail Hospitality Project . (More photos of this at the bottom.)
Beer & Hymns is co-sponsored by Christ Trinity Church and First Congregational Church of Sheffield.
Oktoberfest, at Big Elm Brewing on Silver Street in Sheffield, is made possible by a Thrivent Action Team Project and also thanks to the support of two pretty incredible pastors. Come join us and find out what gemutlichkeit is all about.

Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is
Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is!

On November 17, 2019 Christ Trinity will hold an event where you, the parishioners, choose where you would like our yearly, budgeted Mission resources to go! We will have sixteen baskets, each with a designee and description of its outreach. We will distribute to you “fake” money which you will use to support the missions in which you are interested.

This will be accompanied by a catered Super Coffee Hour, during which the results are tabulated and then revealed and celebrated.
This event is part of our Stewardship Team’s endeavors to bring more sharply into focus the gift of intentional giving. It is our hope that by seeing to whom our outreach goes and participating in the decision-making, congregants will feel more attuned in their giving. Please join us!

Women's Bible Study
Jezebel and Delilah
The November meeting of Womens Bible study will be on Friday, November 15 th at 1:00 at the home of Liz Wells. We will discuss two notorious women, Delilah and Jezebel. Delilah’s story is in Judges 16, and Jezebel is in 1 Kings 16:31, 18:4,13, 19, 19:1-2,1 Kings 21 and 2 Kings 9. This is a lot of material, so it would be helpful to read these passages prior to the meeting. Let Imelda or Liz know if you are planning on coming.
