+ NOTA BENE +
Tuesday 19 May, 2020
from Father John
Greetings Friends:

Following Archbishop Hartmayer’s directive, we will begin celebrating Sacraments publicly.
  •  Live-streamed Masses will continue.
  • We will begin with Public Mass on Tuesday the 26th
  • Our weekend Mass schedule will shift:
  • Saturday Vigil at 5pm
  • Sunday Morning in English at 10am
  • Sunday Afternoon in Spanish at 2pm
  • Drive-through Confessions will begin on Monday the 25th
  • Mondays from 5:30pm to 7pm
  • Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 7pm.

TWO VERY IMPORTANT THINGS!

1.      We need TEAMS OF 8 PEOPLE at each Mass to:
  • Greet and Escort People before every Mass
  • Clean and Disinfect areas used after every Mass
Please contact Alma at [email protected] to serve or complete this form . Without these teams of volunteers, we will not be able to offer public Mass, and they will need to be cancelled.

2.      Be on the Lookout for the NARTHEX NEWS email that you receive every Thursday at 2:00 p.m.; in it will be the link you need to Make a Reservation & Receive a Ticket for a Mass time in the upcoming week. You must have a Reservation for your Household to come into the Church. Bring your ticket.

Before we get too excited, please be conscious of the fact that our utmost priority is the health and well-being of one another, therefore:

1.      Governor Kemp’s Shelter in Place Order remains in effect through June 12 for the following people, whom we therefore do not expect to see back in church at this time:
a.      Those with 65 years or more in age
b.      Those with compromised immune systems
c.       Those with respiratory conditions affecting heart or lungs
d.      Those with conditions affecting organs like liver and kidneys
e.      Those with class-3 obesity
f.        Please do not come if you feel ill or have a temperature
g.      Please do not come if you have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19

2.      For everyone else:
a.      Please know that your Sunday Obligation remains lifted through June 28
b.      Please seriously consider waiting until after June 29 th
c.       Please seriously consider coming on a weekday instead of a Sunday
d.      Please know there will be no nursery available
e.      Please know that you must reserve a space on-line , and tickets will be required
f.        Please know that you must bring and wear a mask when on property
g.      Please know that your temperature will be checked before entering
h.      Please know that you will be escorted to a seat – you may not choose a seat
i.        Please know that Communion will be distributed:
                                                    i.      By sections – standing in your space
ii.      In the hand only – with no gloves on
iii.      And the Cup cannot be offered
j.   Please know that you will be dismissed by sections, requiring your patience
k.  Please then go straight to your cars, maintaining 6 to 10 feet from others

Why all the rules?
  •  Because your safety and the safety of your brothers and sisters is of utmost importance.
  • No one is required to be here, but if you choose to come, you will be expected to do your part in maintaining a safe environment for everyone else – and they for you.
  • Remember that we are still in the midst of a global pandemic which is not over, and you are in danger (as is everyone you see) of contracting this deadly virus, when coming in contact with any remnant of the exhalation of an infected person’s cough, sneeze, or speech.
  • Infected people do not look infected; presume the people you encounter are.
Then why open-up at this time?
  • A Good Question; for which I do not have a good answer
  • Remember you are not expected here; you are, in fact, discouraged from being here
  •  But we are a Church who cannot deny a heartfelt desire for celebrating the Sacraments
  •  And so, we are going to extreme measures to avail the Sacraments, limited and safely
  •  Therefore, your cooperation with every scintilla of all the above is required
  • Let us honor the health and life and dignity of every brother and sister at St. Lawrence
  • Let us honor the God who gives us life, in our worship from home, or at church.

Yours in Christ Risen,

Fr. John
