Principal's Corner

Dear Parents,

Our students have been preparing and practicing for our Christmas event. I hope you all will be able to join us tomorrow for Las Posadas and our community caroling in the church. There are some student performances starting at 5:45, followed by caroling at 6:15, before the 6:30 program start.

Thank you to our PTC Board for hosting their Annual Cookie Exchange---I loved seeing and mingling with parents. The treats were delicious too!

We are coming upon the last week before Christmas break. There is still lots going on with middle school exams starting on Friday and continuing on Monday & Tuesday. The kids are anxious for their class parties on Thursday no doubt and we appreciate your helping us finish out the quarter strong!

Last, but not least, we were happy to celebrate one final school mass with Fr. Frank today. His energy and connection with the students will be missed but we wish him all the best on his next venture back in Colorado!

Upcoming dates to remember:

12/13: Las Posadas & Caroling Symphony--see details below
12/17-12/21: Middle School Midterm Exams
12/20: Christmas Class Parties
12/21: Early Release---hello Christmas break!!
12/21-1/6: Christmas break
12/22: Fr. Frank's farewell after 5:00 p.m. mass

"Be" still and know God,

2nd Annual Cookie Exchange
Thank you to our PTC for hosting the 2nd annual cookie exchange. Fun was had by all and we are happy to share the following awards:

Most Seasonally Decorated: Karen Steingart who had the bars with candy cane and white drizzle.

Tastiest Cookie or Bar : Ashley Flores who made Nutella Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies
Bill's Elves Toy Drive
Thanks to our school community's generosity, NJHS was able to donate over 500 toys to Bill's Elves Toy Drive this week. These toys will be given to children in Child Protective Services and will be such a nice gift for them. There was a great number of parents and school staff who showed up at the Alamo Ranch Target for the dropping off of toys. While a few individuals attempted to put kink in our Christmas spirit, thanks to some creativity on a parents' end, we received a Christmas miracle and recovered our stolen toys. For more on this touching story, click here . Thank you to Mrs. Rita Martinez and our NJHS for representing Holy Spirit so well!!
From the Development Office....
Thank you to Sitterle Homes for once again sponsoring the paddles for Paddles Up!

Last week, 3rd grade made their annual trip to the Sauer-Beckmann Farm. This is a living history farm where interpreters wear period clothing, do the farm and household chores as they were done at that time. The trip is always a neat experience for our students and this year was no different!
