Principal's Corner

Dear Parents,

Welcome to 2019! We look forward to what I call the "meat and potatoes" time of year. Third quarter always requires focused study & concentration in order to master many new concepts in your child's curriculum.

Let's work together to teach and love your children as they grow.

Mark your calendars to be together at our Catholic Schools Week kick-off celebration on January 27th at the 11:30 mass and open house immediately after mass. PTC will have coffee and pastries on hand and we encourage you to bring a friend who might be interested in seeing our school.

We welcome our new Parochial Vicar Fr. Miguel (Michael) Moreno. He comes to us from St. Luke's. He has been ordained 2 1/2 years and has taught PK and Kinder as well as worked in the Life Teen & Edge programs. He is a native of San Antonio from the city's west side. We look forward to having him engaged with our school community.

Spotlight on 4th Grade

Service Project
Before the Christmas break, some of our 4th grade students, along with Mr. Olmos, went caroling at Padua Place, a home for retired priests. There was a priest there who used to be at Holy Spirit and it made his day to see our current students.

Hard at work reading....
4th Grade read the novel Bridge to Terabithia, wrote and submitted chapter summaries in Google Classroom, and worked in teams to construct model bridges that would support 16 lbs of weight.

PTC Corner

They say that generosity begins with gratitude. That is definitely true at Holy Spirit Catholic School.

The PTC Teacher Perks committee received 90 $20 gift cards and a variety of wine and spirit donations that delivered Christmas cheer to our teachers, admins, support staff, cafeteria team and custodians at the annual catered Christmas Luncheon December 21, 2018.

We would like to thank all the parents for kind your donations this Christmas season. Your generosity and support brought so many smiles to those that make HSCS a wonderful place for our children.

Happy New Year!
