Dear Laurel Families,
Every day I come to Laurel School with the highest of hopes of a delightful day. I am very aware that our students have brilliant minds and are eager to learn new ideas and share their experiences. Sometimes I am brought to tears at the beauty of what happens at Laurel on a daily basis: the learning, caring, and respect that is so evident between our students and faculty.
I cherish the strong connections that I feel here, for the support for all of our families and our students, not only when things are going well, but more importantly, when things are challenging. Sometimes instruction does not go as well as planned, or maybe a student or faculty member is ill, or perhaps a student has misbehaved in some way. Regardless, we all go forward positively, in search of creative solutions that make our situations ever better.
I found this quote online about faith, and I think that the holiday season is the right time to share it.
Faith allows things to happen. It is the power that comes from a fearless heart. And when a fearless heart believes, miracles happen.
I am so proud of all that happens at Laurel School for our students, their families, and our faculty. All of us seem to share that special faith that miracles can and do happen here on a daily basis. We approach each new school day with fearless hearts, in search of both small victories and great miracles for our students. Our hope is always that our children will not only succeed academically, but at the same time continue to develop positive feelings about themselves and the world around them.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and celebrations filled with family, friends, laughter and renewed energy. I wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year. Let’s all keep our fearless hearts and look forward to many more miracles in 2020!
See you all tomorrow or in the New Year!
P.S. School resumes on January 6. Enjoy the long break!
