NCAR's Relational Health Workshops
Nurturing Women Series
New Shoes
Empowering women to walk (and talk) in their truth.
We are test-driving this iRT based workshop before offering it to the public and looking for 5 to 7 participants who are currently working in the mental health field. The New Shoes workshop is designed to help women understand their family and cultural entrainment patterns, decide if these patterns are interfering with truthful self expression, and then develop a one-step change. Participants will be taught skills of how to speak truth in multiple environments. This test-run workshop will be offered at no cost with the understanding that upon completion, participants are open for frank discussions about their experiences.
The workshop will be from 9:00 to 2:00 on two consecutive days most likely a Thursday/Friday and include a PowerPoint presentation by Dr. Newton followed by group experiences facilitated by the NCAR team. Group experiences will include mapping family of origin implicit patterns through genograms, creating soul collage cards, mapping implicit self organizations, and determining a one-step change that participant would like to make. The last hour of each day is a reflective practice hour with Maria Ortega, LMFT.
If interested, please contact Maria Ortega mariaortega@newton-center.com for a consent form and application. All selected participants will meet with Maria for a short zoom interaction prior to workshop formal acceptance.
