We are thrilled to present our Mason Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday, October 12 at 8 pm. This concert features Brahms monumental Symphony No. 1 under the direction of Dr. Soo Han, Director of Orchestral Studies, as well as exciting symphonic works by Revueltas and Coleridge-Taylor.
The Mason Fall Choral Festival Concert on Saturday, October 15 at 4 pm highlights our University Chamber Singers and University Chorale, led by Dr. Lisa Billingham, Director of Choral Activities. This Choral Festival also showcases three guest choirs from Heritage High School, Loudoun County High School, and West Potomac High School.
Our Faculty Artist Showcase Recital on Sunday, October 16 at 3 pm promises to be an incredible afternoon of music-making by our Dewberry School of Music faculty artists in voice, strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, and composition.
The Mason Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony concert on Monday, October 17 at 8 pm is under the baton of Dr. William L. Lake, Jr., Mason's new Director of Concert Bands. The concert highlights works of Strauss, Holst, Bach, Brahms, Shostakovich, Grainger, and Kevin Day, as well as a composition by Mason alumnus Carl Holmquist.
Directed by Prof. Jim Carroll, the Mason Jazz Ensemble concert on Wednesday, October 19 at 8 pm pays tribute to the big bands of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Thad Jones, and Rob McConnell.
We are pleased to announce our live, in person 12:30 pm Departmental Recitals which are free and open to the public. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that Student Degree Recitals will occur live on campus and also have a live stream viewing option (see calendar for complete listing).
