Announcing our Director of Strings!
Professor June Huang
Prof. June Huang will be serving as Mason’s Director of Strings, a new full time applied faculty position, effective August 2017. She served as an adjunct violin faculty member in Mason’s School of Music since August 2015.

Warm congratulations to our Mason International Teaching Scholars who are doing great work performing and teaching in Costa Rica from May 22-June 4!  I have just returned from an awesome week in San Jose, Costa Rica, where I had the privilege of giving piano master classes and concerts in university settings as well as working with students in community arts programs.  My special thanks to Prof. John Kilkenny, Director of Percussion, and Libby Curtis, Director of Potomac Academy, for their wonderful leadership of our Mason Music/Costa Rica Initiative which delivers Potomac Academy musical instruments to Costa Rican community arts schools in need.  We are indebted to JP Phaup, University Foundation Board of Trustees, for his generosity and support of this initiative.  Stay tuned for week two of Costa Rica in the next issue!

We are so proud of our incredible 2017 Mason Music graduates and wish each one a rewarding and joyous career in the arts. We are indeed blessed to have the opportunity to help transform lives through our beautiful art form of Music.
