Dear Mason Music Family,

We hope you will join us tomorrow, Tuesday at 8 pm for our Mason Wind Symphony and Fairfax Wind Symphony Concert . Prof. Julianna Nickel will be the featured soloist in Frank Ticheli's Silver Lining for flute and wind ensemble, conducted by Prof. Mark Camphouse. Additionally, Mason's Wind Symphony will perform The Sinfonians in memory of Prof. John E. Casagrande (1942–2019), who served with distinction as a George Mason University School of Music faculty member from 1997 until his retirement in 2010.

We also hope you will join us for our 2019 Annual Faculty Artist Showcase recital this Sunday, October 13, at 3 pm in Harris Theater. This free concert will feature 15 outstanding Mason School of Music faculty members representing strings, winds, voice, piano, brass, guitar, steel pan, and composition. 

Please mark your calendars for our Mason Symphony Orchestra concert on Wednesday, October 16th at 8 pm.

Members of the University Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Lisa Bilingham, were invited to participate in an event to celebrate Mason students who received Golden Delivery competition winners from Starship Robots. This event captured our Chorale in a rendition of Moses Hogan’s”Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit”. Watch a video of their performance here.

Music Education student Kent Baker has been selected as finalist in the Dallas Winds’ annual brass fanfare competition! His piece Land of the Free, Home of the Brave will be performed by the Dallas Winds in April. Read more here.
