Dear Students, Colleagues, Alumni, and Friends,

November greetings from the Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music! Please join us this month for outstanding virtual events including masterclasses and discussions with phenomenal artists, live-streamed student degree recitals from Harris Theater, and Mason ensemble concerts as highlighted throughout this newsletter.

We are very excited about the upcoming Jazz4Justice Concert on November 20 featuring a virtual performance of Mason's Jazz Studies Area (instrumental and vocal jazz ensembles) offered in partnership with the Legal Services of Northern Virginia. This award-winning annual concert was established in 2001 by Virginia attorney Edward L. Weiner, Esq. and Founder of Mason Jazz Studies Jim Carroll. Please know that your generous gifts of support for the November 20th Jazz4Justice concert will jointly benefit the Legal Services of Northern Virginia and Mason Jazz Studies. Huge congratulations to Attorney Ed Weiner who is the recipient of the Governor's 2020 Volunteerism and Community Service Award for his tremendous efforts on leading Jazz4Justice initiatives.

We are so very grateful to our Friends of Music at Mason for your enthusiastic support of our Dewberry School of Music students and faculty. We are thankful for your presence at our virtual concerts and we are appreciative for your gifts of scholarship support for our gifted student artist-scholars.

The music from our talented Mason student artists continues to uplift and enhance our world with beauty, creativity, and joy. Please join us for these special moments of memorable music-making!

Warmest regards,
Dr. Linda A. Monson, Director
