Kudos!
Congratulations to Prof. John Kocur, Asst. Professor of Jazz Studies, and to Dr. Stanley Engebretson, Director of Choral Activities (recently retired) who have been awarded Mason Core Awards for their outstanding teaching in Fall 2020 of music classes/ensembles within the Mason Core (Mason Gen Ed) curriculum.  Having been recognized by students for their teaching, Prof. Kocur and Dr. Engebretson's courses scored above 4.75 out of 5 on the element “My Overall Rating of Teaching” from the Student Ratings of Instruction.  Mason Core classes are critical for engaging students and helping to create Mason Graduates: Well-Rounded Citizens and Engaged Scholars who are Prepared to Act. We thank and applaud Prof. Kocur and Dr. Engebretson for their commitment to teaching and for being recipients of the Mason Core Awards!
