Dear Mason Music Family,
We are very excited to be back on campus once again with live music-making! We are busy preparing for classes, lessons, and ensembles to begin on August 23rd. We are thrilled to welcome our new class of Dewberry School of Music students and welcome back our returning students in our annual School of Music Convocation on September 1st in our beautiful Center for the Arts Concert Hall.
How very pleased we are to announce that Dr. Estrella Hong is our new Audition Coordinator and Recruitment Assistant for the Dewberry School of Music. Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome new full-time and adjunct faculty members including Dr. Soo Han, Director of Orchestral Studies; Prof. Graham Breedlove, Jazz Trumpet; Dr. Adriana Horne, Harp; Prof. Shoshanah Drake, Elementary Choral Methods; and Prof. John Jansen, Music Technology.
We hope you will join us as we raise the curtain once again with live performances featuring our fabulous music students and faculty throughout the semester. We are looking forward to our marvelous jazz faculty in performance on Sunday August 29th at Jammin Java. We are excited to kick off our Dewberry School of Music Fall Concert Series with our Grand Piano Celebration on September 19th at 3 pm in our Center for the Arts Concert Hall with a stunning Gershwin tribute. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the joy of live music once again!
