Fr. Paul Fitzpatrick on Sabbatical

In the photo below, Fr. Paul Fitzpatrick is engaged in conversation with students in Amman, Jordan. Fr. Paul is living in Amman, where he on sabbatical for a couple of months teaching English and working with refugees. He is doing well, asks for prayers and recommends that we watch the movie, For Sama which was nominated at the Oscars for "Best Documentary" and won four BAFTA awards in Great Britain. It is available on PBS Frontline for free. Fr. Paul remarked, "Since Syria is a constant war zone, They didn’t have time for generational disagreement. The same would be true of Iraq and those from Yemen." See the trailer.

Dear Brothers,

Our National Archives: Stories of Place

The Undergraduate Public History Program at St. Mary’s University held its first-ever History Harvest at the National Archives of the Marianist Province of the United States. Each of the students in Dr. Lindsey Passenger Wieck’s course, The Power of the Past: Introduction to Public History, has been researching a location on the St. Mary’s University campus. Marianists and members of the university community were invited to come and share their experiences in these spaces as students prepare to create “Stories of Place” for each locale.
Bro. Leo Slay and ROTC Cadet Pierre John Gutierrez, Jr. discuss the history of the ROTC location on the St. Mary’s University campus.
