Dear Brothers,

New Council, District of India

As previously announced, Fr. Sudhir Kujur (District Superior) and Bro. Darwin Joseph G. (Assistant District Superior) have been reappointed for a second term of four years.

Following a consultation of the members of the District conducted by Fr. Sudhir and Bro. Darwin, the Provincial Council is happy to announce the ratification of the appointment the other members of the District Council.

  • Fr. Varaprasad Nittamaria, Assistant for Religious Life
  • Bro. Sukrit Tirkey, Assistant for Education
  • Bro. Lucian Tigga, Assistant for Temporalities

Please join me in thanking these Brothers for their willingness to serve the District in this very important capacity. Because of the concern for the safety of the Brothers and the current situation with the lock-down in India, the District Assembly scheduled for early June has been canceled. The term of service will begin on June 1, 2020.

A special word of thanks to the Cupertino and the Ligustrum Marianist Communities, for their kindness in remembering the nursing staff at our Marianist care centers. Mary Continues to Lead Us

Mirroring the example of Blessed Chaminade who, while “sheltering in place” at Saragossa, continued to dialogue with his fellow exiles – Mary’s Lead Cohort 1 members have continued to stay in communion and conversation following our opening leadership retreat in early March. The inaugural Mary’s Lead Practitioner Dialogues video conference was held on April 29, 2020, on the theme of Navigating Transitions as Marianist Leaders with guest experts, Fr. Marty Solma and Dr. Dorothy Ostrowski, president of Daniel J. Gross Catholic High School. Providentially, the Mary’s Lead ecosystem is well-designed for adaptation in our world as it is being reshaped by the covid pandemic. To read highlights from the reflections shared by our guest experts and cohort members, click here.

To view the entire video recording, archived on the Mary’s Lead website, click here. Note – this link will be usable until June 30, 2020, after which you may contact Dr. Savio Franco for access to the Mary’s Lead website.
