Dear Brothers,

Marianist Education Bridge Project

One of the highlights of this year’s Marianist Administrators’ Conference was the dialogue that occurred between our high school and retreat center leadership with our three university presidents. Dr. Lynn Babington (CUH), Eric Spina (Dayton) and Dr. Tom Mengler (St. Mary’s) were invited to participate in both small and large group discussions sharing about a potential collaboration among these ministries.

This exchange has resulted in the creation of a task force representing the Association of Marianist Universities, the Office of Sponsorship, the universities and the schools. Our province leadership will review the task force’s recommendations on how to strengthen this important bridge. Please keep this Marianist Education Bridge Project in your prayers.

Dear Brothers,

Vocation Plans

Thank you to the communities that have sent in their Vocations Plan. If you have one but have not sent it in, please send it as soon as possible to be included in the Chapter Report. You can email it to [email protected]

I have gotten several compliments in the last few weeks about the Vocation RefreshersConor McEntee had been preparing and publishing those, so while I am grateful for your kind words, I want to publicly make sure Conor gets the credit.

Our next Roundtable Discussion will be on February 1st, on Zoom. I will send the zoom link next week but if you have not read the latest edition of Horizon, please feel free to read and then come to our discussion on Feb 1st at 7 pm Central Time.

Vocation Refresher

"Fifty-nine percent of newer entrants participated in discernment retreats prior to entrance. Religious institutes are less likely now than they were in 2009 to sponsor vocation discernment retreats.”
(National Religious Vocation Conference, NRVC)

Take time to reflect on what made you discern your vocation and how your story can help others discern their own.
