The International Marian Research Institute (IMRI) was founded in 1975 by the Marianists of the University of Dayton. It has as its worldwide mission to make the Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, better known, loved and served. Since 2016, IMRI has been in transition to adapt and change for our time.  Please click here to read a letter on the process.

Dear Brothers,

Month of November

November is a great opportunity for us to think about the saints in our lives; to think about what we are grateful for; and to reflect on death/resurrection and our call to be people of hope. Let’s take some time in one of our community meetings to talk about these important themes.

Many of the Saints spoke about the importance of service. Here are a few:

  • “No one has ever been accused of not providing ornaments, but for those who neglect their neighbor a hell awaits with an inextinguishable fire and torment in the company of the demons. Do not, therefore, adorn the church and ignore your afflicted brother, for he is the most precious temple of all.” St. John Chrysostom

  • “As long as any one has the means of doing good to his neighbors, and does not do so, he shall be reckoned a stranger to the love of the Lord.” St. Irenaeus of Lyons

  • “We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen away and to bring home those who have lost their way. Many who seem to us to be children of the devil will still become Christ’s disciples.” St. Francis of Assisi

  • “We must show charity towards the sick, who are in greater need of help. Let us take them some small gift if they are poor, or at least let us go and wait on them and comfort them.” St. Alphonsus Liguori
All of the places of our lives are sanctuaries; some of them just happen to have steeples. And all of the people in our lives are saints; it is just that some of them have day jobs and most will never have feast days named for them. (Robert Benson)
