General Chapter preparations
We have received an abundance of material to help us prepare for the XXXV General Chapter of the Society of Mary.
All of the reports and documents are posted on the
Marianist Portal. Please click on "General Chapter" and begin with the "Letter from the Preparatory Commission."
We ask community directors to plan one or two community discussions around these documents. Recommendations and reflections can be submitted to any of our delegates to the General Chapter:
Bro. Joe Kamis and me;
Fr. Oscar Vasquez and
Bro. Bernie Ploeger;
Bro. Dennis Bautista and
Fr. Bob Jones.
The GA asks delegates to submit a response by April 8, and to recommend two or three key concerns this General Chapter needs to address. These responses will help prepare the
instrumentum laboris for the Chapter.
The General Administration has also published a
Prayer for the General Chapter. Let's begin using the prayer in our communities as a way to prepare for this important gathering in July.
Please pray for the brothers who are preparing for the General Chapter and for our General Administration.
St. Louis visit
Thanks to
Pat Wheadon and the campus ministry teams at St. John Vianney High School and Chaminade College Prep in St. Louis for their wonderful engagement with our brothers from India and Africa last week.
Both days were rich and encouraging for all involved. The visiting brothers were especially impressed with the dynamism of the schools and the evident Marianist spirit and commitment of so many lay collaborators.

They also were glad to spend some time with our new provincial! They rounded out their tour with a brief but happy visit to St. Mary's High School.
