Dear Brothers,

Personnel
Bro. Charles Gausling is assigned to the Siena Woods Marianist Community with the ministry of prayer and service to the community. The assignment begins May 1, 2022.
(Beginning with the August 2022 Personnel) Fr. Bob Jones will continue his assignment to the Chambers Marianist and will begin ministry at University of Dayton.

Pray for Peace
As I listen to brothers across the country, a common concern is that we have been deeply affected by the war in Ukraine. Thank you to those who reached out to affirm the decision to give money to assist refugees on behalf of the Province. The Provincial Council asked Fr. Robert Bouffier to write a prayer for Russia and Ukraine. Click here to download and print it. I encourage everyone to incorporate it into community prayer. Let us unite ourselves in intercession for an end to this war.

Dear Brothers,

Lenten reflection from Bro. Tom Spring in Cupertino
"Lent and Spring come rather close together; evidence of that is abundant at the Cupertino Marianist Community. We omit the Alleluia following Glory Be at Lauds and Vespers while trees and bushes outside are garbing themselves in their festive green leaves and colorful flowers. And just as Lent was making itself present, we had the wonder of Bro. Frank Spaeth reminding us of Lent by dying in his 99th year. Fr. Bob Hackel added to that reminder by passing on 20 March. Life and death are with us here, and we find it easy to celebrate both in the context of our faith (a marvelous gift) and the love we all share. Spring is life emerging from apparent death, and Lent is death yielding to life.
We celebrate both well! Our liturgy for Frank is loving and grateful; we get to share our favorite stories about Frank as we commit him to the joys of the Communion of Saints. We celebrate life in general by gathering daily for prayer and meals and via the socials and parties we have, the latter being special events prepared by our nursing and kitchen staff. We laugh a lot here in Cupertino!"

Annual Retreat Registration
As a reminder, we ask all members of the Province to register for one of the five retreats being sponsored this summer or for your own private retreat and/or any request for your assistance. This should happen by the beginning of April. Thank you for your cooperation.

Office of Vocation Ministry - Bro. Mark Motz
Dear Brothers,

Vocation Refresher
“Listening, welcoming calls, discerning them and the implementation that follows from them, concern everyone, each according to his level of listening and response. We want to accompany each person in this process, in order to encourage good listening and responses in harmony with one’s own personal vocation. We are also called to be the ear which helps to hear and the voice which echoes the consequence of that listening.” (Fostering New Vocations, P. 20)

How can that vocational dimension be introduced into our pastoral care, both with non-Christians and Christians? How can we encourage attitudes of listening and acceptance of the calls?
