I received word today from Fr. George Cerniglia and Bro. Jack Ventura that the first retreat for the Brothers in Eastern Africa went very well. Today, they visited the property in Lilongwe, Malawi, where the Brothers are preparing to build a school. Please continue to keep Fr. George and Bro. Jack in your prayers, they will be preaching two other retreats in Eastern Africa.

Dear Brothers,

JPIC Committee Update

Our Province JPIC Advisory Committee met in February and decided to welcome one new member and rotate off one veteran member who completed his maximum service (two three-year terms). Bro. Bob Donovan has graciously fulfilled 6+ years of service to our committee with the utmost grace and humility, and we want to thank Bro. Bob for sharing his precious time and profound talent with us. Not only has Bro. Bob helped advance and inspire our Province JPIC efforts in a myriad of ways, but he's also been a steadfast witness to Gospel values and a helpful support for me in this role.

We welcome our newest member to our Province JPIC Committee, Fr. Sean Downing. We're excited for Fr. Sean to start his term at our next in-person meeting in February 2020. We know he'll also help deepen our Province culture of JPIC and various initiatives moving forward. Other Province JPIC Advisory Committee members include myself, Bros. Roger Bau, Mike Murphy, Tom Oles, Justin Quiroz, Mitch Schweickart, Sr. Leanne Jablonski, Fr. Tim Kenney and Maureen O'Rourke.

Unbreaking America - What Are Your Thoughts?

We invite you to watch the short video (at right) that focuses on the dysfunction and corruption in the US system of government, how it can be fixed and what the American people can do about it. MSJC leadership is trying to decide what kind of follow-up, if any, we should pursue.

We encourage you to email us after watching the video and let us know your responses to these questions:
• How do you feel after watching this video?

• Is this project something that MSJC should be involved in? If you answer 'yes', how do you think we should do so?

• Would you like to be involved?

Email Jim Vogt, MSJC Director, with your responses.
