News for members of the Marianist Province of the United States
Jan. 11, 2018
From Fr. Martin Solma

Dear Brothers,

Envisioning the Future II

This weekend, 24 members of the province -- professed from 1980-1996 and ages 50-62 -- will gather in San Antonio for "Envisioning the Future II." You may remember that we had a similar meeting last February for members of the province who professed since 2002.

This gathering was requested by the Provincial Chapter to encourage discussion, sharing, visioning and mutual support for an important cohort of the province. Both Fr. Oscar Vasquez, who is himself a member of this group, and Bro. Bernie Ploeger will be present to engage the participants. I will be there as well from the Provincial Council.

Thanks to the organizing team of Bros. Jesse O'Neill, Ed Violett and Charlie Johnson, and Frs. Chris Wittmann, John Thompson and Oscar Vasquez for all of the planning and preparation; to Mr. Tim Fallon who will serve as facilitator; and to Bro. Dennis Bautista who will be the recorder.

Provincial Council Meeting

The Provincial Council will meet in San Antonio on Sunday and Monday following the "Envisioning the Future II" gathering.

General Chapter update

The preparatory commission for the General Chapter has published its second bulletin. Please read it carefully.

If you'd like to submit propositions to the Chapter, please do so by March 1.  Please also begin using the prayer for the General Chapter. The prayer, and other materials, can be found on this page of the GA website.

All in the family

Watch for a bright new version of FamilyOnline later today. In keeping with the reinvention of marianist.com, the monthly newsletter has a fresh look.

Let's remember our brothers in the healthcare facilities and all of the generous donors who support our life and mission.
