Village to host Tree-Lighting Ceremony

The Village of Tinley Park will once again host its annual Christmas Tree-Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 in Harmony Square, 6700 North Street.

Afterward at 6:30 p.m., the Village will officially open the gates to its brand-new ice rink experience. Rent skates or bring your own hockey skates and take to the synthetic ice as holiday music plays all around you. Start a game of curling, and warm up next to several cozy firepits.

Other activities will include roaming carolers from 6:30 to 8 p.m., costumed characters offering plenty of great photo opportunities, and food and beverages for sale from Durbin's, The Lucky Hot Dog, The Scoop, and Reina del Pozole.

The ice rink experience will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays to Thursdays; 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays; 4 to 10 p.m. Saturdays; and 4 to 9 p.m. Sundays from Nov. 21 to Feb. 15, except on holidays. A holiday light show is scheduled to begin in early December in the plaza, adding even more holiday magic to the experience!
