Irish Parade entry form, virtual map application now available

Businesses, nonprofits and other organizations are invited to participate in the 23rd annual Tinley Park Irish Parade, which steps off at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 5 from Central Middle School and marches north down Oak Park Avenue. 


The cost is $20 for veterans, schools and nonprofit groups; $50 for Tinley Park businesses; $100 for non-Tinley Park businesses and political groups; and $200 for unions and large corporations.


Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis, and no entries will be accepted after the maximum number of entries are met. Please complete the application and return it by Feb. 17.


Irish Parade Virtual Map

Businesses that will be having St. Patrick's Day deals and specials and would like to be included on the Tinley Park Irish Parade Virtual Map can email their information to Event Specialist Amanda Gaus at agaus@tinleypark.org by Friday, Feb. 24. The virtual map will be promoted through Village communications channels such as the website, social media and the weekly Community Email newsletter.

Village seeks vendors for inaugural Art and Garden Market

The Village is looking for vendors who are interested in participating in the inaugural Art and Garden Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13 at Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park. The market will feature florists, garden centers, art for sale and handmade goods.


Vendors who sell flowers (annuals and perennials), garden supplies, seedlings, bouquets, handcrafted items, fine art, illustrations and more are invited to submit the 2023 Art and Garden Market Vendor Application by March 10 to marketing@tinleypark.org.


Vendors will be chosen and all applicants will be notified of their status by March 31.

Particpate in this year's Farmers Market

Now is the perfect time to become a vendor in the 2023 Tinley Park Farmers Market, which will run from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays from June to October in Zabrocki Plaza.


The vendor fee is $400 for the entire 19-week season. Interested vendors should submit Part I of the application to koswald@tinleypark.org or mail it directly to Tinley Park Village Hall, 16250 S. Oak Park Avenue, Tinley Park, IL. Applicants will receive a reply with confirmation of receipt within seven business days.

Become a 'Benches' sponsor

The Village will once again host its popular Benches on the Avenue program this year and is seeking businesses that would like to sponsor a bench.


The program will run from May to October along Oak Park Avenue in Downtown Tinley and is the perfect opportunity to market your business or organization to tens of thousands of residents and visitors throughout the summer season. This year's theme is “Industry, Invention and Progress” and will showcase groundbreaking creations that have made a mark on the world and changed the way we live.


The introductory sponsorship price is $749 through April 1 and $849 after that date. Sponsors will receive a plaque affixed to their sponsored bench and inclusion in the widely distributed Benches on the Avenue brochure. Sponsors also are featured on the Village website and on social media.


Benches will be sold on a first-come, first-choice basis. Reserve your bench today by completing the order form and returning it with your check. You can partner with fellow business owners to share the cost of the bench.

Midwest Express Clinic, 17124 S. Harlem Ave., Tinley Park, recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new store. MEC is an urgent care and express clinic providing convenient and affordable healthcare options.

Forest preserve posts Swallow Cliff RFP

The Forest Preserve District of Cook County has posted a Request for Proposals (RFP) for interested vendors who are capable of managing healthy food, beverage and/or retail services for the concession facility at the base of the Swallow Cliff Walking Stairs, best known for its 100-foot bluff, demanding stair workouts and many enthusiastic patrons and families.
