Holiday schedule full of fun this year

Set your reminders now, because Tinley Park is bringing the holiday fun this year!

Amaze Light Festival

The Amaze Light Festival is coming to Tinley Park starting Nov. 18 at Odyssey Fun World, 19111 S. Oak Park Ave. Featuring light displays, massive holiday environments, food and beverage vendors, the Arctic Express train ride, live performances, a toy store and much more, the festival will run from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays to Sundays through Dec. 14 before moving to seven days a week until Jan. 8. The event will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Learn more at AmazeLightFestival.com.

Holiday Concert

The Village will host the first in a series of planned annual holiday concerts from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive. This year’s inaugural concert will feature Trans-Infinity Orchestra, a musical ensemble that tells the story of Christmas using an angelic choir, snow machines, a state-of-the-art light show and other holiday surprises. Tickets are on sale now for $15 each on the EventBrite website.

Tinley Park Holiday Walk

Throughout the season, families can stop by the Tinley Park Holiday Walk, a beautiful lighted display in Zabrocki Plaza that provides many great photo opportunities. New to the Holiday Walk this year is the Holiday Tree Project, a collection of 12 wooden trees decorated by local artists and painted with holiday imagery. A companion piece to the Village’s popular Benches on the Avenue program, the Holiday Tree Project is sure to be a regular gathering spot for those looking to soak in the spirit of the season.

Holiday Happenings

The Village’s annual Holiday Happenings event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 4 at the Zabrocki Plaza. Events will include the Community Tree-Lighting Ceremony at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 2, shopping inside a large, heated tent at the Holiday Market throughout the entire weekend, the arrival of Santa Claus during the Tinley Toyland Parade at 11:45 p.m. Dec. 3 along Oak Park Avenue, the Parade of Lights at 5 p.m. Dec. 4 along Oak Park Avenue and other holiday favorites.
