Just a reminder that business license applications are due tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 31. There is a $50 late fee for applications turned in after that date.

The Village requires that most businesses in Tinley Park have a valid business license. Some business types are regulated by the State of Illinois and are not required to get a business license. If you're unsure if your business needs a business license or not, please call (708) 444-5004.

The Village will host its annual Tinley Park Farmers Market again this year and is looking for specialty growers and vendors who sell food and beverages, along with those who sell flowers and plants.

The 2024 Farmers Market will run from Saturday, June 1 through Saturday, October 12 (except for July 20). The fee is $400 for the 19-week season. Vendors are invited to take advantage of the pre-season special rate of $375 by submitting Part 1 of the application by Feb. 2.

Join the Village of Tinley Park for the 2024 Art and Garden Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11 in Zabrocki Plaza!

The Village is looking for vendors who sell flowers (annuals and perennials), garden supplies, seedlings, bouquets, handcrafted items, fine art, illustrations and more. Whether shoppers are looking to start their spring gardening or want to get something special for a mother in their life, this will be the place to be!

Applications are due by March 8 and are available at TinleyPark.org.

The Village of Tinley Park will be hosting its 21st annual Benches on the Avenue public art project this year and is looking for local businesses and organizations that would like to become sponsors. In addition to promoting an appreciation for the arts, the "Benches" program has been very successful in generating interest from residents and visitors alike.

About two dozen handcrafted wooden benches will again line Oak Park Avenue in Downtown Tinley from mid-May to October. Benches are six feet long, include attached flower boxes, and feature one-of-a-kind artwork based on this year's theme, “Saturday Morning Cartoons.” Sponsors will be able to select their desired bench in April in the order the Village received their applications.

Your business has the unique opportunity to become a Presenting Sponsor of the 2024 Downtown Tinley Irish Parade! The family-friendly event attracts thousands of visitors to Tinley Park and features dozens of floats, community groups, local schools and businesses.

The parade will step off at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 3 from Central Middle School and proceed north on Oak Park Avenue to 171st Street. With approximately 80 entries and thousands of viewers, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss!!

The Village is also accepting applications for those who would like to participate in the parade. The cost is $20 for veterans, schools and nonprofits; $50 for Tinley Park businesses; $100 for non-Tinley Park businesses and political groups; and $200 for unions and large corporations. Participants will be eligible to win awards in one of four categories, including Amateur Float, Professional Float, Performance Group, and Walking Group/Vehicle.

To apply, fill out the 2024 Irish Parade Application on the Village website and return it by Feb. 16. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis, and the Village will not accept entries after the maximum number has been met.
