Subject: Scheduled Maintenance and System Enhancements for Inpatient Discharge Form in ProviderConnect

Dear Provider,

This notice provides advanced notification of system enhancements and scheduled maintenance for Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Any registration in a saved draft status in ProviderConnect must be completed and submitted by Friday, June 14, 2024, as it may not be accessible after the maintenance. If not submitted by Friday, June 14, 2024, information in a saved draft status must be re-entered.

System users may experience intermittent downtime during this scheduled maintenance.

Please read below for information on the system enhancements.

CT BHP’s authorization portal, ProviderConnect, will feature two additional questions within the inpatient review discharge form.

Effective Saturday, June 15, 2024, the following questions will be required for the successful submission of a discharge review request:

Located at the bottom of the discharge review screen, regarding the Aftercare Behavioral Health Provider and Aftercare Prescribing Physician section, if Not Arranged is selected, a dropdown question will be prompted for Reason for Aftercare Not Arranged. The selections include,

Declined aftercare referrals.
Left against treatment advice.
Discharged to legal/court order.
AWOL.
Transfer to Medical.
Transfer to alt. psych.
Guardian Removed.
Member deceased.
Other.
Other will prompt an open text field for a narrative explanation.

If users select Arranged in the same section, an additional question will be prompted. Has contact been made with outpatient provider for appointment scheduling at discharge? Users will select Yes or No.
