The Delta Independent Science Board will meet virtually on November 12, 2025, at 9:00 AM to discuss its reviews and activities. The agenda will include a presentation by the Delta Science Program on the draft update to the Delta Science Plan. The plan serves as a shared framework that outlines the vision, principles, and approaches for coordinating science in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, as well as for effectively communicating scientific outcomes and management implications to policymakers.

The Delta ISB will also discuss any public comments received on its draft subsidence review and the next steps for products from the Emerging Climate Science Symposium.

Reminder: Public Comment Opportunity on the Subsidence Review

The Delta ISB is seeking input from the public on its draft review, “Science to Inform Management of Subsided Lands in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.” This report summarizes key findings and recommendations developed by the Delta ISB on the science needed for improving the management of subsided lands in the Delta.

The findings and recommendations are based on reflections from a workshop hosted in October 2023, interviews with subject matter experts, and a limited review of relevant literature. The review is intended to serve a diverse audience that includes Delta managers, researchers, legislators, decision-makers from local, state, and federal agencies, and other interested parties.

Comments are due by December 1, 2025, via email to disb@deltacouncil.ca.gov, or by mail to the following address.

The Delta ISB meets monthly. The public may observe and participate in the meeting in person at a teleconference location listed in the notice or via Zoom.

The Delta ISB advises the Council and provides oversight of the scientific research, monitoring, and assessment programs in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta through periodic reviews. Recent products include its food-webs review and seminar synthesis report on decision-making under deep uncertainty.
