The Housing Department is pleased to provide this notice of proposed Substantial Amendments to the City of San
José's FY 2015-2020 Consolidated Plan and FY 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan. These Plans oversee the City's use of federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The proposed amendments are being made to allocate available HUD funds to provide emergency services in response to community needs caused by the COVID-19 crisis. The amendments also include proposed uses for the award to San José of $8.2 million in supplemental HUD funding through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. In compliance with CARES Act-related guidance from HUD, the City is providing a five-day public comment period and one public hearing that may be held virtually to commit funding for COVID-19 emergency services. The five-day public comment period begins on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
We welcome public comments on this proposal. All public comments will be submitted to HUD. The public can comment in several ways on this proposed action:
