The Island Corridor Foundation has started constructing a new trail along the railway corridor, connecting Memorial Avenue to the rear of the train station.
The Island Corridor Foundation shared in a recent Facebook post: "We're excited to share that work has started on another nature path beside rail project along the island corridor. Thank you to the Town of Qualicum Beach for your support and leadership. This new trail will connect Beach Road to Memorial Avenue, providing an important missing link in the active transportation network stretching from Laburnum to Qualicum Road. Please stay tuned for more projects to come this fall and winter!"
The work will be completed in two phases, with completion anticipated in November:
- Phase 1: Construction from the west edge of the Field of Crosses area to the rear of the train station, with completion anticipated around October 28.
- Phase 2: Completion of the connection between the trail and Memorial Avenue, tentatively scheduled for November 13-18.
Please avoid the construction area while work is in progress
