Roadside mowing will occur along Hoylake Road sometime between July 3-5 with the following details:
North Side
Mowing will be carried out on both sides of the gravel trail, including the open ditch area leading to the road. The section marked in red, planted by the school in 2024 as part of a designated Pollinator Pathway, will not be mowed.
South Side
Mowing will extend from the road through the open ditch up to the edge of the paved walkway. On the south side of the walkway, vegetation only will be trimmed to ensure it is safe and accessible for pedestrians and cyclists. The sloped bank will remain untouched, preserving it as part of the Town's Pollinator Pathway initiative.
Wildlife Considerations
Environment consultants have completed a bird-nest sweep and determined that there is no evidence of active nesting or herons in the area, making it safe to mow this overgrown area. Monitoring will continue in the area.
