Dedicating the Altar Flowers
Our “Remembering Our Loved Ones” program is beginning in January.
If you would like to have a Sunday’s Altar bouquet dedicated to the memory of a loved one, you need to…
•take an envelope found in the pew and fill in the information, providing the name of your loved one, the Sunday on which you wish to make a donation to the Flower Fund in memory of your loved one and your name. For your information, the cost of each bouquet is $40.50; whatever you donate will be appreciated.
•A notation will be included in your loved one’s selected Sunday’s bulletin, stating “An Altar bouquet this Sunday is dedicated to the memory of the name of your loved one by your name.
•Remember, it is wise to fill in the envelope in advance, reserving the Sunday of dedication. Each Sunday, there are two bouquets, so we can only take two names. If a date is very important to you, please send in your request as early as possible.
•Seal the envelope, and drop it in the offertory basket.

Songs of thankfulness and praise, Jesus, Lord to Thee we raise. Manifested by the star to the sages from afar; Branch of Royal David’s stem in thy birth at Bethlehem; Anthems be to thee addressed, God in man made manifest.
Manifest at Jordan’s stream, prophet, Priest and King supreme; And at Cana wedding guest, in thy Godhead manifest; Manifest in power divine changing water into wine; Anthems be to thee addressed, God in man made manifest.
I love being an Episcopalian Music Minister for so many reasons: Our music has such a rich tradition and deep history, our choir is an integral part of worship, and we get to celebrate Christmas all the way until Epiphany (hooray for extended Christmas carols!). In this time of post-Epiphany, we are truly in that “bleak mid-winter” time, yet we are still glowing with the joy of our celebration of Christ’s birth and Epiphany. It’s a quieter time in the church, and yet a wonderful time of joy, warmth, and gratitude.
On Sunday, we will sing one of my favorite hymns, “Songs of Thankfulness and Praise”. This hymn touches on the events up until now: The birth of Christ in Bethlehem, his baptism at the Jordan River, and the miracle of turning water into wine at the wedding at Cana (in our Gospel this week!). The hymn’s final verse brings it all together with, Grant us grace to see thee, Lord, mirrored in thy holy word, May we imitate thee now, and be pure as pure art thou; That we like to thee may be at thy great Epiphany, and may praise thee, ever blest, God in man made manifest.
The choir will then sing a beautiful modern rendition of the same text for the Offertory, bringing a new view with a more contemporary setting that was written in 2010. No matter the setting, whether written in 1862 or 2010, this meaningful text stands out and has staying power for good reason.
May we continue to celebrate the miracle of Jesus’ birth and the miracles that continue to happen!
In Christ,
Jennifer

We are absolutely thrilled to support our college students from Trinity Episcopal Church, a place where community and inclusivity shine bright! If you have a college student in your family, please share their name and mailing address with us so we can sprinkle some joy their way with delightful goodie boxes! 🎁✨ Let’s keep those connections strong!
We’re not looking for candy; let’s get creative! Bring in items like ramen noodles, gum,
tic-tacs, hot chocolate packets, chapstick, and post-it notes to brighten our students' days! There’s a collection box waiting for your contributions at the front entrance of the church.
Our wonderful youth will be crafting heartfelt Valentine's for our troops on February 2nd, because love knows no bounds! ❤️ And mark your calendars for our exciting monthly meeting on Sunday, February 9th, in the library right after church—let’s come together and strengthen the bonds within our Trinity family!
