Counselor’s Corner

Hello everyone! We are in the final two weeks of school! It has been an amazing first year here for me. I am truly blessed to be part of the GRACE school system!

Here are a few things the students have been learning about in my classes. Self-confidence and liking ourselves for who God designed us to be has been part of our lessons. Part of these lessons were acceptance of others as well and celebrating our uniqueness.. Also, we focused on ending the year strong and getting ready for the next year. We looked at things we can improve on to be the best student we can be.

This website https://www.commonsensemedia.org/ has a wealth of great information in regards to technology use, safety, privacy and parental controls to name a few.. There is a section specifically for parents called Parents Need to Know. You can also select topics by specific age ranges as well.

In search of items
I am always looking to expand my counseling tools below to enhance my program. If you have any of these your family no longer needs, I would be happy to have them. Thanks!
  • Board games
  • Card games
  • Playdough
  • Legos, blocks
  • Books
I use the above items to teach social skills, cooperation, problem solving and books that contain a message on feelings, character development, friendship to name a few.

Little Saints
GRACE families can now register for fall enrollment at Little Saints, located inside Holy Family School. Sign up today! We will be opening up to parishes very soon to fill any open spots we have remaining. Contact Tami VanGruensven with registration inquiries.
Online Directory
After quite a long wait, we are working to pull together an optional family directory prior to the summer for families to remain connected, set-up play dates, etc. Please fill out this form for each child you would like included in the directory with the family information you are willing to share. Once ready, this directory will be published under a password protected section of our website with the password shared only with families who choose to participate.
