It's hard to believe summer 2020 is already coming to an end! It seems like just yesterday we were transitioning to remote services and prioritizing frontline support; almost five months later, we grateful for the continued support we have received from you our volunteers, donors, community partners, board members, and staff.

As we welcome the month of August, we want to share some updates, as well as a list of our ongoing or new support groups.

(Find additional updates and announcements on our Coronavirus Webpage and Facebook )
Nourishing Our Neighbors
JFS Delaware's corps of dedicated volunteers have stepped up their efforts to support older adults and vulnerable members of our community during the COVID-19 crisis. From meal delivery and grocery errands to "Stay-at-Home Survival Kits" and personal notes from neighbors, this has been so much more than food nourishment... this is nourishment for the SOUL!

Check out the video below to learn more about these incredible volunteer projects!

Celebrating the JFS Family
This month, JFS Delaware received the 2020 Community Innovation Award from the Sussex County Health Coalition. JFS was selected for this recognition for our immediate and thoughtful response to COVID-19; we were applauded for our quick transition to telehealth, providing support to multiple community organizations doing frontline work, launching our emotional support hotline "JFS On-Call," and offering various online support groups to address the new or increased needs of the community. While providing services across the state, JFS is honored to receive this recognition for our presence and support in Sussex County during this challenging time.
Also this month, we welcomed two new professionals to our team:
Kate Gruber, BSW
Care Manager
Kate is a geriatric social worker joining our Older Adults Services team.
Paul Sheslow, PMHNP
Psychiatric
Nurse Practitioner
Paul is a diagnostician joining our clinical team.
