On Thursday, November 10:

Ask Questions of the WILPF Board Candidates and about the Bylaws Amendment Proposal

Jot down those questions now! No sooner is one set of elections over than the WILPF elections get started.

Thursday, November 10

5:30 pm PT / 6:30 pm MT / 7:30 pm CT / 8:30 pm ET

Get your questions answered. After that, be sure to vote. Your ballot packet will arrive in about ten days, and ballots must be postmarked by November 28, 2022, to be valid.

Join us on November 10 to meet candidates Barbara Nielsen (running for Treasurer) and George Friday (running for the second Program Committee Chair).

You’ll also have the chance to learn why you should vote for a Bylaws amendment which won’t change anything about the way we do things!

Click here to register for this one-hour webinar.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.

The two candidates will be available to answer your questions. Get started by seeing their answers to the candidate application questions here, on the members-only elections page – along with their other documents (see below).

Act now to submit your questions in advance for a greater chance of them being asked! Please send your questions to Secretary@wilpfUS.org

Find out more on the members-only WILPF elections webpage on the WILPF website!

On this webpage you’ll get further details about the candidates as well as the Bylaws amendment. For each candidate, in addition to their application for the Board position, you’ll find their Candidate's Statement, letters of recommendation, and resume and/or “activist biography”. The Candidate's Statements are also included in the mailed ballot packet which you’ll receive within about ten days.

A Bylaws Amendment Proposal to Make the Bylaws More Concise

Also in that mailed packet is information on the Bylaws amendment. That proposal makes no changes to current WILPF procedures. Instead, the amendment makes the language of the Bylaws more concise by offering a simpler explanation for the system of staggered terms and elections for the Board members.

You can see that explanation of the Bylaws proposal on the elections webpage including in this document showing the old and the new Bylaws language. (The chart mentioned in there, a visual presentation of the Bylaws amendment wording, is also available on the elections webpage.)

Will you get the ballot?

With the crush of state and national election materials, both the printing and the delivery of our ballot packets have been delayed – but the ballots are coming. However, only members whose dues were current at least as of April 2022 will receive the ballot packet.

Please watch your mail for the arrival of your ballot packet – likely between November 10 and November 15. Make sure your votes are counted by expeditiously reviewing your ballot information and sending back your votes, per the directions in the ballot packet. Ballots must be postmarked by November 28, 2022, to be valid.

Register, Read, Question, and Vote!

I hope you’re doing all of that for your local elections on Tuesday! For this WILPF event, please remember to register by clicking here. Check out the elections webpage and send your candidate questions (and Bylaws amendment and other elections questions) to Secretary@wilpfUS.org. And please send in your vote before November 28.

I hope to see you on the 10th!
