Special President's Message
Message from President
Billie Araiza
Greetings!

I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving. With all the negative things happening in 2020 sometimes it’s difficult to remember that we have things to be grateful for. I would like to start by saying I am grateful for all of you, my family, friends, and my dogs. I’m also grateful for the time and friendship I had with Bev. As most of you know by now, our beloved member, Bev Rozendaal passed away on November 18, 2020. We honored Bev by dedicating our Wednesday club meeting to her. There was a minute of silence for Bev and we spent the remainder of the club meeting sharing happy Soroptimist memories of Bev. She was such a beacon of light, joy, and happiness with an infectious laugh. If you were in a room with Bev, you were drawn to her. She was an amazing woman who inspired everyone she came in contact with. She was my Soroptimist Sponsor, Soropti-mom, and friend.

There is a link on our private SI Chico Facebook page for anyone who would like to make a donation to our SI Chico Legacy Fund in memory of Bev. I provided Joyce with the contact information for Bev’s daughters if anyone would like to send sympathy cards. Joyce sent out a club email to all SI Chico members with their contact information.

There is no club meeting this week due to Thanksgiving. Our next meeting is our Business meeting on December 2, 2020. I look forward to seeing all of you then.

With Gratitude,

President Billie
