What's Happening this week: Thanksgiving
Message from President Sara Beacham
Greetings!

Happy Thanksgiving! It’s hard to believe that we are already at the holiday season. I hope each of you gets a chance to see your loved ones and enjoy some food and fun. I will get a chance to spend some much-needed down time in the mountains with my in-laws. Our club will not meet this week.

After the holiday, we will reconvene for our business meeting on Wednesday, December 1. We have a lot to talk about; so, remember to RSVP for lunch before the weekend ends.

A huge thank you to Internal Fundraising for an amazing Christmas in November last week. So. Much. FUN! I can’t wait to hear about how much internal funds we made this year.

Save the date! Sierra Nevada Region has released the region conference dates: April 1-3, 2022 at the Atlantis Resort in Reno, NV. Check out the rest of the eblast for additional information on how to register and reserve your rooms.

That’s it for this week. See you after the holiday.

President Sara
Lets show how super generous soroptimist is to our kids.

The Giving Committee is very excited to announce our Holiday hands on project.

We will be supporting a Holiday Store for the Boys & Girls Club of Chico

The Boys & Girls Club is looking more for toys this year. They have a good amount of clothing being donated.

Toys ( ages 5-18 )

  • Educational/Learning toys (colors, words, interactive)
  • Headphones (for the older kids)
  • Board games, Puzzles, Books ( to encourage family time)
  • Wrapping Paper so the Parents can wrap their gifts

Anything for those age groups. - they typically will have their older teens shop for their siblings at the store.

Gifts purchased can be brought to our next meeting on December 1, 2021 or dropped off at Sue Ligon's house, 3052 Gallatin Gateway Chico

We will need all gifts dropped off to us by December 1.

Christmas in November Recap

Christmas in November was a great fun event. We enjoyed over 70 varied donations from our club members, all of which were interesting and oh so tempting!! The addition of the festive centerpieces on each table, which were for sale, (Kimm’s great idea), made our lunchroom look exciting and added to the Christmas spirit.

We had Christmas music, courtesy of President Sara’s playlist. The Fundraising committee aided by other club members who signed up to help and President Sara, were able to keep the enthusiasm and party atmosphere going.

We made an estimated $3400.00 in profit. This is so amazing. Thank you so much to all of you that donated items and centerpieces and to all of you that purchased the excellent variety of items. You are all very special women.

Huge thank you also to the Fundraising committee members and other club members who helped put all this together.
