Cholla District Weekly Update

November 14, 2025

Dear Cholla Residents,

The 9th Annual Cholla District Holiday Mixer is a little over 2 weeks away, scheduled on Thursday, December 4, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM in the Coyote Room at the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center. The deadline for RSVP is coming up on Monday, November 24. We have had a great response online already and appreciate those who have registered to attend. If you haven't had a chance to RSVP, please do so as soon as possible so that we may have adequate supplies and food for everyone planning to attend.

This event is one of 2 large district meetings I hold each year that is open to all Cholla district residents. Come interact with city staff and ask questions. We will have several City representatives in attendance, including Mayor Jerry Weiers, Police Chief Colby Brandt, Fire Chief Ryan Freeburg, City Manager Kevin Phelps, Water Services, Solid Waste, Engineering, Emergency Management, Transportation, Parks & Recreation, and many others. They can provide general information and answer questions you may have about the City.

In addition to the informative side of the meeting, this is a great opportunity to mingle with other neighbors in our district and enjoy a mix of complimentary hors d'oeuvres and holiday music. Don't forget to wear your ugliest holiday sweater for a chance to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prizes with voting done by your fellow neighbors in the district. There will also be chances to win other prizes, including tickets to Glendale events such as upcoming concerts at Desert Diamond Arena in the City suite. You must be a resident in the Cholla district to participate. Simply register online on or before Monday, November 24, or if you are unable to use the online form, contact Council Assistant Terri King for assistance.

I look forward to celebrating the season with you!

Warm Regards,

Lauren Tolmachoff
