Dear CHEARS community,
Hope all are well! Thanks to all who made it to our workdays this spring and summer. This fall we invite you to join us for a new opportunity to help renovate the TSG-West Food Forest at Springhill Lake Recreation Center.
We are most grateful for the beautiful new playground and basketball court at Springhill Lake Recreation Center! But now our Food Forest, first begun in 2013, is also in need of some tender love and care restoration work. The Springhill Lake TSG Food Forest has survived floods, tornado like events, and many invasive plants over the years. Through some trial and error, over the years we have learned a bit more about what can survive in the lovely space near the banks of the Indian Creek Tributary. We are very happy that Michael Thompson of Forested has made a restoration design for us building on the original design from 2013 (see above for new design and below for original design by Lincoln Smith).
Join us on Sunday Afternoon, Nov 16 to help with some new plantings including: blackberries, aronia berries, blueberries, elderberries, goumi, peach and pear and even some mushrooms!
Sunday Nov 16, 2PM to 4:30PM
