November - Celebrating Resilience
Please help us Recruit: Text BRAVE to 97779
Our team is making a monumental push to enroll 1,500 AI/AN teens and young adults to evaluate a 7-episodes video series designed to improve mental health, while promoting cultural pride and resilience. Native youth (15-24 years old) across the U.S. are eligible to participate – we're about 1/2 way to our goal – we would love your help recruiting participants in your area.

Eligible youth can join by texting: BRAVE to 97779

Youth who enroll will be randomized to receive either:
  • 8 weeks of BRAVE text messages, designed to improve mental health, help-seeking skills, and promote cultural pride and resilience, or
  • 8 weeks of STEM text messages, designed to elevate and re-affirm Native voices in science, technology, engineering, math and medicine.

Afterwards, the two groups will switch and participants will receive the other set of messages.

Recruitment:
Please share @We R Native's recruitment messages on Facebook , Instagram , and Twitter . We appreciate your help spreading the word!

Veterans Day
On November 11th, we honored our AI/AN Veterans, as well as acknowledging active-duty members. Even though Veterans Day has passed, we encourage you to reach out to AI/AN Veterans in your life and check on them. A simple thank you can go a long way.

The AI/AN Veteran Suicide Prevention social marketing campaign, You Protected Us. Let Us Walk with You hopes to ignite hope and help-seeking for those Veterans in need. Caring messages are suicide prevention interventions. A brief hopeful message to Veterans who may be at risk of suicide can help save lives. Reminding Veterans that someone is thinking of them and cares about them, can be a powerful message during a difficult time.

International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day -
November 23rd
As the holidays approach, International Survivors of Suicide Day reminds us that this time of year can take a toll on survivors around the world. Survivors of suicide are those who lost a friend, family member, or community member to suicide. If you have lost someone to suicide, you are not alone. We Are Connected, together we can heal and support.

Native American Heritage Month
As we continue to carry on the support from Indigenous People’s Day across the nation, November highlights the celebration of Native American Heritage Month! It’s not only a time to amplify our stories, culture, traditions, and identity, but it is also a time to give back and honor the indigenous peoples of this land.

Recognizing our first nation ancestors and tribes together as a unified voice creates bold movements in working together. So how do you honor and recognize those before us?
