UPDATE FROM OUR CEO

November 2023 Newsletter

Happy November, Casper,

With: retail expansion anticipated in our city, halo development surrounding Wyo Sports Ranch, new hospitality construction, and sustainable growth from our current businesses; I am writing my CEO update this month with a smile on my face.

In 2023 we have been incredibly fortunate to relocate new businesses, their workforces, and their families to the heart of Wyoming. These efforts, along with the above wins, may just stretch our workforce and resources more than ever.

In turn, new and existing businesses are not only all hiring, but we are at full employment. This makes the case that we need to focus on the livability of our community to go along with great jobs to recruit workforce to facilitate our expansion.

As we head into the holiday season, I encourage you to:

  • Fly Casper - Casper - Natrona County International Airport is prepared to take you and yours to the sky safely, efficiently, and more cost effective than ever before. Spend more time with your loved ones instead of on winter roads, in security lines and spending money on unnecessary hotel rooms en route to DIA.
  • Welcome new families, businesses, and visitors to our city with open arms. Lean into the western hospitality we are known for and extend your table when you have an extra seat!
  • Save the date for our Christmas Open House on December 6th, 4:30pm - 6:30pm at our office 139 W. 2nd St. Ste 1D.

Finally, we have 4 board seats opening up for elections in Jan. 2024. If anyone is interested in running, please get in touch with me!

In the meantime if you have any questions, feel free to give us a call at 307-577-7011.

Best,

Justin

NEW & NOTEWORTHY IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

1. Retail Expansion Coming to East Casper

As shared in Oil City News' article "Developers Looking to Expand Retail Space in East Casper" on August 30, 2023, we're looking forward to the new outside investment in our community heading into 2024. With 160,000 square feet of new commercial building proposed adjacent or near the Blackmore Marketplace Shopping Center, investors confidence in Casper is at an all time high. The truth is this is not a trend nationwide - which is a testament to the growth and vibrancy of our city. When we combine this expansion with: the halo development surrounding the Wyo Sports Ranch (coming 2025!), business relocation, new hospitality construction and sustainable advancement of our existing businesses; we could see local growth that will stretch our workforce and resources more than ever. More to come, Casper!

2. Casper Flies in Family for the Holidays

In partnership with Fly Casper Alliance and the Casper - Natrona County International Airport, our economic development efforts are focused on the skies this holiday season. From hazardous winter travel conditions to cost breakdowns, recent studies show that flying Casper is not only safe and time efficient, but more cost effective compared to other options like Denver International Airport. Whether you're jet setting to see loved ones this Thanksgiving or hosting here in the heart of Wyoming, don't forget about your local flight options that boost local economic development and take the stress out of getting away!

3. David Street Station Sets Ice Rink Opening Day!

On Friday, November 24th at 12:00pm our festive downtown neighbor will be opening their outdoor ice rink for the season. After a year off in 2022, the Casper community is looking forward to gliding below the city lights as fall turns to winter in Wyoming. Rentals are available & the season will extend through mid-January. For more information and rates, check out David Street Station's website.

4. National Apprenticeship Week in November

National Apprenticeship Week is November 13th - 19th! It's time to celebrate the incredible value of apprenticeships in shaping the future of our workforce. During this special week, we recognize the dedication of apprentices and the employers who invest in their development. Here at Advance Casper we view it as an opportunity to raise awareness about the countless opportunities apprenticeships offer for skill-building, career advancement, and economic growth. Let's put our hands together for the vital role apprenticeships play in building a brighter and more prosperous future for individuals and our community as a whole.
