The Library will be accepting donations of non-expired, non-perishable items to benefit the Greater Tiverton Community Thanksgiving Basket Mission and other community food collections during the month of November.

If you would like to help Amicable Church fill their Thanksgiving Baskets for families in the Greater Tiverton Area, please consider donating cereals, peanut butter, jelly, napkins, paper towels, packaged cookies, kids’ drink boxes, napkins, stuffing mix, gravy (cans and plastic containers preferred), canned vegetables, coffee and tea, paper goods, cake and brownie mixes, apple and cranberry sauces, and shelf-stable milk.

The Friends of Tiverton Libraries, through membership dues, Book Nook sales, and other fundraisers, pays for museum and activity passes for library patrons.

The annual gift drive to benefit East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) to assist local families in need begins on Saturday, November 18th, and will run through Saturday, December 9th, to allow for distribution in time for the holidays.

This talk, presented by Fred Zilian, will examine the first 275 years of Newport’s history, with emphasis on its founding, its 18th century Golden Age, and its 19th century Gilded Age.

When we arrive at the Gilded Age, we shall look at the lifestyles of the rich and then consider the four women who—because of their pedigree, personalities, or wealth—stood above the rest of society in their influence and impact.

Love to write? November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), and this year at the Tiverton Library you can come work on your novel all month long!

Join in on November 1st to learn about NaNo, set up an online account, and get started writing. Visit the library all month to work on your writing, get inspired by reading a new book, or find a writing buddy to work with!

Come create your WORST masterpiece! Draw, paint, glue, sew, do whatever you want, just make sure it's bad! 

We'll spend an hour creating our worst works of art and then cast our votes for our favorite Bad Art. The winner will receive a Bad Art prize!
