PALCUS Gateway Featured Business -   LaSalette Restaurant

T his month's feat ured business is LaSalette Restaurant of Sonoma, California.

At home amidst the historic buildings surrounding Sonoma's landmark central plaza, LaSalette Restaurant has earned its reputation as one of Sonoma Valley's favorite restaurants since its inception in 1998. Chef Manuel Azevedo's signature Cozinha Nova Portuguesa - "New Portuguese Cuisine" - celebrates the varied and complex flavors of his native Portuguese homeland while adapting them to the immense offerings of top-quality ingredients from his current home in California. The result is a unique cuisine characterized by familiar Southern European comfort ingredients (olive oil, olives, garlic, tomatoes, onions, wine, parsley etc.), exotic seasonings picked up from around the globe during hundreds of years of Portuguese expeditionary voyages, and fresh local and sasonal Californian produce. As the success of LaSalette attests, it's a winning combination for lovers of traditional Portuguese fare and adventurous gourmets alike.

Electoral Registration - Recenseamento Eleitoral

The Portuguese Consulates inform us that Portuguese citizens registered in the electoral system of Portugal, will soon receive from the Portuguese Electoral Administration, a letter indicating the simplification of the voter registration system for those who reside abroad. This registration will become automatic according to the address declared upon the issuance of 'Cartão do Cidadão'.
Each Portuguese citizen, once having received said letter, has 30 days to communicate otherwise. Any errors or omissions can be reported to recenseamento@sg.mai.gov.pt

PALCUS Mission

In order to create a singular voice to advocate  for the Portuguese-American and Luso-American communities at large, the Portuguese-American Leadership Council of the United States Inc. (PALCUS) was founded in 1991 as a non-partisan, non-profit, organization headquartered in Washington, D.C.

The PALCUS mission is to address domestic and international concerns of the Portuguese-American Community.

The Council conducts an expanding program of educational and public affairs activities on issues of interest to the Portuguese-American community and of salience to the Luso-American Relationship.

PALCUS is committed to serving the community through increasingly active government relations efforts, the promotion of a greater awareness of ethnic accomplishments and encouraging stronger ties between Portugal and the United States. In this role PALCUS advances the community professionally, politically and culturally while working to ensure that issues directly affecting our community are addressed through our network of government and community leaders.
